Creating these vignettes, in a setting like the Karoo, to highlight the ethereal beauty of the clothing line Pure Solid 13, is inspiring. The same can be said about collaborating with Charles as we were aligned in our vision for style and composition. In a way, we worked with the same ease and fluid energy that the collection has. I stand in those vast dry landscapes, and I am aware of the stillness, the groan of a windmill. My friend Charles and I are different, in very different times of our lives, and although we see things differently, we both search for reality. The reality of the landscape, sunlight passing through linen or fynbos, a smile, and the reality of friends.
