“I haven't been behind a camera for a long time, not since my two sons, with good eyes looking for a sharp lens, took my kit. I didn't mind at all, sharing isn't losing especially between us, particularly when it comes to creative expression and the tools needed for the task. Besides, I started wondering, doubting the purpose of making images, especially digital ones. But then Alexa became my friend and talking about photography made me realise how much I loved and missed making images. Now seven years later, and a lot of water under the bridge, I am looking at life differently.
Blake’s concept of “the double eye” is an intriguing exploration of perception, duality and the nature of creativity. This idea invites us to consider the balance between material observations, deeper insights and the importance of looking beyond the surface; thus, the interplay between two sets of eyes, two different brains, and two separate cameras pointing at the same image simultaneously becomes a richly intuitive collaboration-inviting you the observer and we the doers, to reflect on how we perceive beauty, truth and even darkness. I see you see. I am because you are.”
