Etienne de Villiers is a filmmaker and artist, currently working on a series of big pastel drawings – Karoo Monuments – layering figures and objects over expansive landscapes. Etienne studied and lectured in fine art, but soon shifted to a successful, forty-year career in filmmaking, only recently taking up the pencil again.
